Diablo - Mr. Cheung

diablo goes to a party and tries to find a girlfriend. diablo tells a girl, "look at what i can do" and he swings his giant sword around. the girl turns away from diablo and asks a friend if she wants to go outside for a smoke. diablo stands by the wine table and scratches his horns.

(i wanted to do a big "where's waldo" like party scene but it was taking a long time lasso-ing and cropping people out. this party is more of a wine and cheese gathering. like their cool outfits? the party people are models from totem fashion.)

Diablo - Mr. Shen

Mr. Shen here.

I hate to say, but I had a similar idea to Mr. Hu and his design for Diablo. Coming from the same area, I've also come across the Diablo magazine. I decided I wanted to take a single element from that culture and do something with it.

In comes photo manipulation. Since the aptly named Photoshop is perfect for things of the sort, I decided to try my hands on it.

Below are the elements I used to create the final image.

Diablo - Mr. Hu

This is a satirical redux of the Diablo magazine (referring to local Mt. Diablo) that I grew up with in the East Bay. It's sort of a "lifestyle" magazine that talks a lot about local restaurants and shopping and celebrities and other upper-middle-class suburban luxuries of concern. And yeah, my family subscribed to it and I read it and there it is.

It's a stock photo by the way.
