Mapping - Mr. Hu - Mapping a Conversation

This was my attempt to map a conversation that I had with several friends the other night. It took place at a quaint little SF eatery over the course of about 40 minutes. I took notes as to the progression of topics and basic phrases and transcribed them. The progression of time proceeds downward, as is the natural way to read English. The horizontal axis represents a topical spectrum organizing roughly along the poles of "Employment" and Unemployment" (highly subjective, I know). Notable topics discussed are labeled and you will notice that revisited topics are shown by the word stream redirecting back to the same horizontal location.

Note that the interjections of friends sitting nearby but not fully participating in our conversation are depicted as minor deflections into and out of the central stream.

Disclaimer: I recognize that the most glaring falsity of this spectrum is the misleading idea that one must pass through all intermediary topics to go from one to another.
