map - mr. cheung
follow your heart was what i wanted to draw, so here's a flow chart of some of my main passions now... where does it go, maybe towards some sort of interdisciplinary love work collaborative atelier, one day, maybe one day!
Mapping - Mr. Hu - Mapping a Conversation
This was my attempt to map a conversation that I had with several friends the other night. It took place at a quaint little SF eatery over the course of about 40 minutes. I took notes as to the progression of topics and basic phrases and transcribed them. The progression of time proceeds downward, as is the natural way to read English. The horizontal axis represents a topical spectrum organizing roughly along the poles of "Employment" and Unemployment" (highly subjective, I know). Notable topics discussed are labeled and you will notice that revisited topics are shown by the word stream redirecting back to the same horizontal location.
Note that the interjections of friends sitting nearby but not fully participating in our conversation are depicted as minor deflections into and out of the central stream.
Disclaimer: I recognize that the most glaring falsity of this spectrum is the misleading idea that one must pass through all intermediary topics to go from one to another.

Mr. Shen - Map
Mr. Shen here!
This week's assignment was truly an interesting one. Basically we were assigned to map out something, anything, that's not your typical "point A to B" map.
I decided to take a stab at a "normal" week for the average working individual. This, however, does not reflect me very well.
There would be a "Vomiting Station" between every weekday and the "Work Week" section would be labeled "Unemployment".

Mr. Shen - Robot
Mr. Shen here.
This is the "3D Robot" piece that I made. The name is Woodbot. It's a prototype design of the surveyBots that survey the different planets and moons across our universe, testing and quantifying their worth as part of the "big picture".
Hired by the higher ups, they infiltrate by the [number too large to write], but no one ever sees or hears them.
It was done with wood blocks, a few toothpicks, some white glue and black paint.

Mr. Cheung - Imaginary Friend
Mr. Shen - Imaginary Friend
Mr. Shen here.
I don't think I've done something that's straight up illustration lately, so I decided to do something of that sort this time around. The piece is all vector so it can easily be scaled for mugs, t-shirts and other "sell out" items. :)
I never played cards with imaginary friends. It always ended up in a fight and blood on my hands.
